How to Pack Your Item for Repair

Proper packaging prevents transit damage and ensures your equipment arrives safely. Please follow these guidelines before sending your item to us.

Contact us before sending. Please get in touch before despatching your item so we can confirm we can repair it, provide a job reference, and advise on any specific packing requirements for your equipment.
What NOT to Do
Do not reuse a damaged or weakened box
Do not use the original retail box as the outer packaging — it won't withstand transit
Do not use newspaper — it offers little protection and can leave marks
Do not leave the item loose — no movement should be possible inside the box
Do not send accessories, leads or remotes unless specifically requested
Do not ship without a tracked (and ideally insured) courier service

Packing Workflow

1
Choose the Right Box
  • Use a sturdy, double-walled cardboard box
  • Allow at least 5–6 cm larger than the item on all sides for padding
2
Wrap the Item
  • Wrap in bubble wrap (at least 2 layers)
  • Secure with packing tape — no loose wrapping
  • For screens or displays, add extra padding to the front face
3
Fill the Box
  • Fill all empty space with foam peanuts, crumpled paper or bubble wrap
  • The item should not move inside the box when shaken
  • Centre heavy items with equal padding on all sides
4
Include a Note
  • Add your name, contact details, and job reference
  • Describe the fault clearly — what happens, when, any error codes
  • If under warranty, include proof of purchase
Shipping Your Item

UK customers: We don't recommend a specific courier, but we do recommend using a tracked (and ideally insured) service so your item can be traced in transit. Please ensure any declared value covers the full replacement cost of the item. Multicare cannot be held liable for any loss or damage that occurs while items are in transit to us.

International customers: We don't recommend any particular carrier, but we use DHL ourselves and have had a good experience with them for handling customs. Customs documentation may be required — if so, please mark the goods as being returned for repair and state the correct market or replacement value of the product being shipped. Incorrect valuations can lead to additional processing fees and delays. We're happy to help create a commercial/pro-forma invoice if required.
